On Tuesday 16th April, after 24 weeks of construction, the building refurbishment project at Luton Airport officially concluded, the brand new building houses the airports armed response officers, community policing teams for the area, and the airport Dog Unit and is now fully operational following an opening by Chief Constable Trevor Rodenhurst. The new building features an armoury, gym, open plan offices, large briefing room with excellent technology and moveable desks, showers, kitchen and faith room.
Having been integral to the project, NSP’s Senior Site Manager Jim Box and Trainee QS Josh Hill were in attendance for the opening. Jim said: “This was a challenging development but the NSP team and our contractors performed superbly to bring about this transformation - and the client and their new tenants couldn’t speak highly enough about the quality and functionality of the build.” Josh added: “This was an excellent project to work on and was a great opportunity to work with this client. It provided me with good learning opportunities and to put into practice what I’m learning as part of my apprenticeship.”
