Client: Rothsay Education Centre
Duration: 20 weeks
Neville Special Projects was awarded the project to carry out the full refurbishment, internal alterations, including a passenger lift and provide an extension to a large Victorian property located in Bedford. The building was used as an adult education centre and due to its popularity, needed to bring the facilities up to date, increase capacity and make it more accessible.
Whist not the lowest tender price, the client wished to engage Neville Special Projects due to our tender submission and reputation. The work commenced in late April and had to be completed for the beginning of the new academic year in September.
One of the main attractions of the centre was the café which served homemade food. The existing café was in the middle of the building with very little natural light. The design allowed to remove structural walls and open the area up providing plenty of natural light and views over the rear garden.
