Client: Hertfordshire Constabulary
Duration: 50 weeks (across two phases)
This 50 week long project was to refurbish the existing police station in Hemel Hempstead town centre. The station still needed to remain operational, and following demolition of cell blocks and tertiary buildings, police resources worked from a temporary building located on site.
Works included the strip out of the existing police station back to its structure, asbestos removal works; new roof coverings; full front elevation curtain walling and rear elevation SFS walls with zinc cladding finish; full internal refurbishment, with new room layouts; a new single storey, open plan office, steel frame extension; and external resurfacing to form new enclosed car park, with brickwork boundary walls.
