Project Update - Mounts Ancillary Facility for Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service

Progress continues at pace on the Mounts Ancillary Facility for Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service, where we are delivering a new breathing apparatus service facility and gym.

Following several months of extensive civils works, the building footprint and superstructure have now progressed to first lift scaffolding. Internal birdcage scaffolding has also been installed, enabling the safe installation of the timber roof trusses, which are due to commence in the coming weeks.

Once the roof structure and cladding panels are complete, external doors and windows will be installed, making the building wind and watertight and allowing internal works to progress.

Delivering works within a fully operational fire station environment brings its own challenges, with maintaining the station’s operational requirements remaining a key priority throughout the project. In addition, ongoing global supply chain pressures, restricted site space for material storage, and periods of adverse weather continue to require careful coordination and planning from the project team.

A great effort from everyone involved so far as works continue to move forward safely and efficiently.
