Project Update - The Mounts Fire Station

Great progress continues on site at The Mounts Fire Station.

The demolition of the existing garage is now complete, with all asbestos materials safely removed and disposed of in full compliance with regulations. Bricks and blocks from the structure were also recycled as part of our commitment to sustainable practices.

Groundworks are now well underway. Excavations have reached depths of up to 3 metres to facilitate building foundations and the Anglian Water drain diversion, with mass concrete pours completed across several trenches.

As part of the drainage diversion, confined space operations have been safely carried out within an existing manhole, alongside the use of trench boxes to maintain safe working conditions during deep excavations.

The Anglian Water diversion works are nearing completion, with foul and rainwater connections still to be finalised. Steel fixing is also progressing in preparation for the formation of reinforced beams.
