At Neville Special Projects, we’re delighted to have led the refurbishment of St Neots Fire Station – creating Cambridgeshire’s first carbon neutral fire station and a modern hub for both firefighters and the local community.
Working in close collaboration with Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service and Ingleton Wood, our team delivered a £2m project that combined innovation, sustainability, and practicality, including:
✅ Heat pumps & solar panels
✅ Upgraded thermal efficiencies
✅ EV charging bays
✅ New offices, welfare facilities, gym, and enhanced meeting spaces
Even with major construction works, we ensured the fire station stayed fully operational throughout, allowing firefighters to continue serving the community without disruption.
This project brought together over 50 skilled contractors, and we’re incredibly proud of the teamwork, coordination, and craftsmanship that went into every detail.
As Construction Director Benjamin Knight shared:“We’re proud to have delivered a station that is net zero focused and a real asset to the community. This project reflects the collaborative spirit and commitment of everyone involved.”
This milestone also comes as the wider group Neville Trust Ltd celebrates its 150th anniversary – a reminder of our heritage of quality, and our vision for a sustainable future.👏
A huge thank you to all involved in making this project such a success.
